The sad truth is that most of us are too preoccupied with the stresses and strains of everyday life to wonder how we might inject more magic into our days.
But what if magic wasn’t just the stuff of fairy tales? What if it didn’t have to feel fantastic or out of reach? And what if it could feel wildly fulfilling and deeply nourishing?
It’s my belief that real magic is what happens when we’re walking our soul’s path, and when we’re connected —trulyconnected — to the essence of who we are. That’s when our life is fuller, brighter, and more joyful.
But what if we want to experience that sort of magic every day? How do we connect to our truest self on a regular basis, or at all? And how do we begin to explore what our highest calling might be?
Here is a list of 8 things to consider:
1. Face your fears.
As a child, I knew I wanted to heal people. Healing was part of my vocabulary, even as a four year old. I thought I would go on to create some kind of magical potion that would instantly eliminate somebody’s problems. But after training to become a pharmacist years later, I discovered the reality: I wasn’t healing people at all. I was only helping them to masktheir symptoms — not heal the root cause of their distress.
My decision to listen to my soul and become a holistic health practitioner and intuitive healer instead came as a surprise to some, but made perfect sense to me. I left my traditional career path in pharmacology behind and began to use a blend of energy healing work, essential oils and salts to ease my patients’ chronic pain, anxiety and suffering. And I’ve never looked back.
As adults, we’re preprogrammed with certain beliefs that define who we think we should be. But when we face up to our fears and face down other people’s expectations of us, we get to tell a different story about ourselves — and that’s nothing short of miraculous.
2. Ask for help.
I once worked with a physician who had a huge medical practice, but she was sick; really sick. For the first time in her life, she was being forced to reevaluate all of her beliefs and everything she’d ever done from a medical perspective and say, “Okay, this isn’t enough. I need something more.” She recognized she needed help, she acknowledged it, and she did something about it.
The problem is, MOST successful people never ask for help. But allowing someone to take care of you when you need it most is one of the most enriching things you can do in this lifetime.
3. Say “goodbye” to negative emotions.
Dealing with negative emotions is imperative if you want to enjoy a more joyfilled life.
