Hi there, and welcome to today’s podcast. I am your host, Elena Bensonoff. I am so glad that you chose to be here with me today, because I have a message just for you! I want to help you today step into what I Iike to call the non-judgment zone. The ability to release judgment in your life does wonders for your journey to fulfill your higher purpose - but this can become even more difficult with so many areas of life where judgment can creep in - especially social media. So let's talk about some judgment pitfalls, and how to honor your own divine path through life.

 

 

On a typical day, do you find yourself scrolling through social media almost as on auto-pilot?

Many of us use these platforms to keep in touch with friends and family, as an extension of the workplace, and even where we consume our news. Social media is a wonderful tool when you use it mindfully and intentionally. However, it can quickly become toxic, a breeding ground for negativity, and heavy with judgment.

I want to encourage you, pay attention to how you feel next time you scroll. Do you find yourself upset, angry, unsatisfied? Do you end up comparing yourself to the images and stories that you see? Are you easily drawn into conflict in the comments? These are all the result of being stuck in the judgment zone. When what we see conflicts with our reality, or perhaps the reality that we think we should want, our instinct to judge ourselves or others is an emotional response. This habit of comparison can be so damaging if it is left unchecked. It is helpful to remember that social media is not designed to support your highest and best - it is designed on the premise that "the more interaction the better." It's all too easy to get sucked in...

You are far too valuable and amazing to be trapped in judgment this way! Take some time to pay attention to who you are following online and surrounded by in person. Certain people can really push our buttons and cause us to judge ourselves or others harshly. Take stock of your "circle." Are you inspired? Encouraged? Peaceful? It’s okay to unfollow or release people or accounts that disturb your peace. You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone. You are responsible for you, your path, how you show up to life each day, and the ways that you respond to others. Your path is uniquely yours.

When you allow yourself to live in the “judgment-zone” you hinder your own potential to grow, thrive and enjoy life.

Judgment is a roadblock we throw in our own way. Let’s take responsibility to change the habit of comparison to others.

 

 

Stepping into the Non-Judgment Zone

The first thing you can do to enter the non-judgment zone is do some soul searching and really focus and get clear on what YOU want. Know that your way of doing things will look different than others, and that is perfect! That means you have a unique opportunity to impact hearts and help this world become a better place for all of us!

The second thing you can do instead of judging yourself or others is to take time to reflect on and appreciate what you already have. Making the choice to refocus and reflect is true freedom from the chains of judgment. And that is powerful! When you free yourself from judgment, you are able to live freely and love fully. People will be attracted to that authenticity when you show up as YOU!

The third thing I want to encourage you to do is filter your thoughts through the loving lens of your heart! This will help you shift your mindset to one that serves you rather than one that suffocates you. It will take some self-awareness and practice to shift your thoughts away from automatic judgment, but making a conscious effort to connect to your heart whenever you are feeling judgment creep in will give you a big advantage. Just follow what brings you peace while leaving the rest behind.

So to recap, the three things you can do to enter the non-judgment zone are:

  1. Focus and get clear on what YOU want by doing some soul searching
  2. Take time to reflect on and appreciate what you already have
  3. Filter your thoughts through the loving lens of your heart

When you free yourself from judgment, you are able to live freely and love fully. People will be attracted to that authenticity when you show up as YOU!
