Hello, and welcome. I’m Elena Bensonoff – Quantum Medicine Practitioner, clinical pharmacist, and Health Expert. I am so excited to talk to you about transforming your life through the practice of meditation.

In this episode, you will learn how you can benefit from having a daily meditation practice, and give you easy steps to begin incorporating meditation into your schedule, no matter how busy you are!

When I was preparing to speak to you about this, I was thinking about how overwhelming and hectic our lives can become, and I reflected on how incredible meditation is when I feel myself becoming overwhelmed or getting irritable towards those I love. Meditation is truly a solution and your greatest ally when you feel it is time to reset and recalibrate your state of being.

Research continues to show meditation is one of the simplest ways to improve quality-of-life. Think of your sessions as a gentle undoing of the low vibrational energies and inner chatter you are constantly subjected to. Release attachment to ruminating on past and future and hold space for yourself to be in the now.

Meditation is an incredible tool you can implement to clarify your purpose and elevate your consciousness. Meditation is linked with a reduction in feelings of depression, anxiety, and even physical pain. Spending even just 5 minutes a day can improve your health, reduce stress levels, and increase your productivity. You will see definite shifts in your mood, abundance, and general outlook on life.

 

 

Let’s explore some easy steps to begin your meditation practice.

First, you will need to create a sacred space in your home. It is important to create a restful and inviting space where you can distance yourself from the distractions of work and family noise. Create your own little haven within your home. There are no rules; this is your space. It could be as simple as a cushion and a candle, or as elaborate as a dedicated room. You might choose to incorporate your favorite books, music, crystals, or any kind of symbolic items that are important to you.

Begin by focusing on your breath so you can release tension in the body and clear your mind. Breathwork is an excellent way to release stress and detoxify your body. It’s a powerful way to activate different areas of your brain that haven’t been getting enough oxygen. This is as simple as a few long and purposeful inhales and exhales. With each new breath, allow your body to relax, your mind to calm, and your eyes to close.

Choose a mantra, intention, or affirmation to weave into your session. You can also listen to guided visualizations, mantras, or chants as a meditation modality. Mantras are a beautiful reminder for you to stay connected. This connection is available to you anytime anywhere. It can be as simple as repeating: “I am full of love and light, I am worthy of all the blessings coming to me.”

When in doubt, explore things you are thankful for during your peaceful meditation session – try writing a gratitude list before you meditate. Tune into your five senses and express gratitude for the tastes, sights, feelings, sounds, and scents that delight you throughout the day. Each time you choose gratitude, “positivity pathways” in your brain are reinforced and your ability to break the cycle of negativity is amplified. Little expressions of gratitude add up energetically – like a currency for abundance. The more gratitude you show, the more you will have to be grateful for!

Your meditation can also be all about silence and clearing the mind. If your mind tends to wander, simply acknowledge those thoughts and let them go - refocusing on your breath. There are so many ways you can invite meditation practice into your life and I hope you will take some time to explore some of these options.

I encourage you to incorporate meditation into your daily life regularly, even for a week, and see how you begin to align more with your highest and best self.
