What does it mean to live Wholistically?

You know YOU are the healer you’ve been looking for and you take responsibility for the fact that your whole being – body, mind, and soul, needs love and care!

If you’ve been feeling unwell, stressed, or fatigued lately – it’s time to take a closer look at your lifestyle from a Wholistic perspective.

The 4 Pillars of Wholistic Living:

  1. Your Physical Body
  2. Your Intelligent Mind
  3. Your Divine Soul
  4. Your Sacred Environment

Each of these key areas must be adequately nurtured for you to experience vibrant health and happiness! 

There’s a robust body of scientific research that supports Wholistic techniques! Let’s take a look at some of the most impactful, proven techniques you can easily incorporate into your lifestyle to benefit all 4 pillars.

 

 

1. Your Physical Body

Diet: Your body will feel the best when you nourish it with a variety of nutrient-dense, whole foods. How you eat even affects how you age. This study found that a diet higher in protein and balanced nutrients helped prevent muscle and strength loss in the elderly population. (1) Muscle testing for food sensitivities can help reduce inflammation in the body. You can learn how to do this yourself in my free masterclass!

Hydration: Your body is about 60% water! Drinking enough water is crucial for keeping your cells hydrated, improving your digestive processes, and helping flush out toxins. Drinking 100 ounces of water a day is a great goal to start (avoid drinking during meals because it interferes with your digestive enzymes). This 2023 study shows that chronic dehydration causes premature aging and causes increased chronic disease risk. (2) Optimizing your hydration is the easiest thing you can do to keep yourself looking and feeling younger, longer!

Exercise: Being physically active results in an abundance of health benefits! Doing exercise that increases your heart rate for even just a few minutes a day can be extremely beneficial. This study published just last year investigated how people who occasionally pushed themselves to exercise at a higher intensity were about 17% less likely to die prematurely than other people who did the same amount of exercise at a moderate pace. (3)

Rest: Your body uses rest as its natural cycle for healing and restoration. Getting enough restorative sleep is critical for physical health AND optimal brain function. (4) Light management has a major influence on the quality of your sleep. One of my best tips for this is to be mindful of limiting EMF or blue light exposure. After dark, switch to using candles or incandescent globes and wear blue light-blocking glasses during screen time. It is also important to make sure you get enough natural sunlight exposure during the day to support your body’s melatonin production.

 


2. Your Intelligent Mind

Emotional Balance: Experiencing a full spectrum of emotions makes life so much more rich and meaningful. The more you understand how your emotions influence your wellbeing, the more you can consciously take charge of our health. Repressing, or refusing to acknowledge strong emotions, causes an internal imbalance. Allowing yourself to feel negative emotions and letting them pass through you is one of the most impactful Wholistic techniques you can practice. This helps you avoid emotional blocks and attachments that could lower your vibration and even cause physical illness over time. Learn more about embracing your emotions in this blog post!

Meditation: Research continues to show meditation, including mantra meditation, is one of the simplest ways to improve mental health. (5) Think of your sessions as a gentle undoing of the low vibrational energies and inner chatter that distracts you from experiencing peace. Learning: Did you know that reading, even for just 6 minutes a day, can improve your brain function, quality of sleep, and mental health? Learning new things not only benefits you in a practical way (finally mastering the art of cooking risotto or impressing your partner with salsa dancing), research shows it enhances memory function and reduces the effects of aging! (6) Experiences and actions form new neurological networks can aid in awakening your intelligence.

Creativity: Tapping into your creativity is one of the most effective (and fun!) ways to raise your vibration. In our Vibrational Frequency Analysis sessions, we always reference how increasing the creativity frequency can help shift all the numbers in a person's chart. 3. Your Divine Soul

Energy Field Balance: You are an energy being as well as a physical being. Your energy field is a powerful part of your anatomy that has the greatest impact on your wellbeing. It is the essence of your consciousness! Your energy field is highly sensitive to transmitting and receiving information. When you reprogram and release, you enhance the flow of consciousness within so you can experience more magical moments in life!

Intuition: Intuition is one of your most powerful Divine gifts! When you tap into it, this “inner knowing” acts as a guiding light on your Divine path. With practice and conscious intention, the spark of your intuitive knowing can be tended into a brilliant flame that illuminates even the darkest corners of uncertainty. 4. Your Sacred Environment

Home: Create a sacred space in your home for your spiritual practice. By making yourself a dedicated space, you give your subconscious a clear message: this is important to me. Every time you see your sacred space in your home, you’ll be reminded of your practice and it will reinforce the habit. The opposite is also true. When there is no space in your home dedicated to spiritual growth, the subconscious message is that there is no mental or emotional room for it either. 

Work: When was the last time you asked yourself if you love your job? You can choose to live authentically in your professional life just as you do in your personal life. Your Divine purpose is not limited by titles or degrees so there is no need to place a limit on what you feel your heart is passionate about achieving in this lifetime. The best Wholistic tips I have for optimizing your work environment is to bring the heart-centered creative energy of your inner child to work and avoid burnout by ensuring your work/life balance is aligned.

Relationships: Know what people, places, or activities drain your energy and create a state of imbalance. Minimize your contact with these people or places. Raising your own vibration will attract people who will uplift and inspire you. Connect to those important in your life through active listening and from a place of love.
